The year is Cosmic Era 73. It has been two years since a peace agreement was signed between ZAFT and the Earth Alliance. Members of an independent Earth Alliance special task force, Phantom Pain, hijack three advanced mobile suits from a ZAFT armory base, reigniting tensions both old and new, leading into yet another war.
